The third installment of Stranger Things has officially become the most-watched Netflix Original series ever.
According to the company’s reports, over 60 million member households have watched Stranger Things 3 in the first month alone.
As per the streaming giant’s definition, anyone that watches at least 70 % of an episode or a film qualifies to represent one member household.
“As we’ve improved the variety, diversity and quality of our content slate, member engagement has grown, revenue has increased, and we’re able to further fund our content investment,” Netflix shared with the shareholders in their quarterly letter.
“We have been moving increasingly to original content both because of the anticipated pullback of second run content from some studios and because our original content is working in the form of member viewing and engagement.
“We started first with English scripted TV series more than six years ago to great success. We continued in Q3 with Stranger Things season 3 (the most watched season to date with 64m member households in its first four weeks).
“We also introduced new limited series like Unbelievable, one of our most thought provoking and highly viewed dramas (watched by 32m member households in its first 28 days).”

The letter followed shortly after Stranger Things 4 got confirmed and after leaked pictures from the set of the fourth installment started surfacing the internet.
Eagle-eyed fans have quickly suggested that Chief Hopper, played by actor David Harbour, could be making his return in Stranger Things 4.
At the end of Stranger Things 3, the directors made it look as if the popular character was killed in a massive explosion. Now, after fans spotted his car on the set, however, people are convinced that he’s coming back to the screens.
The pictures from the set were shared by a man who alleged to be the brother of the guy whose house is located next to where the crew was shooting.
The excited fan quickly took a few snaps and shared them on Reddit along with the caption: “Filming has begun in Rome, Georgia.”
Sadly, however, David Harbour, the actor who plays Chief Hopper, was nowhere to be seen.
