Fortunately, months of restless search have proven useful and Talermo was reunited with Jackson after the pooch ended up at a Los Angeles shelter.

“I just burst into tears. He licked the phone hearing my voice and wiggled his butt,” the owner told The San Francisco Chronicle as she recalled the moment the shelter staff who found her microchipped dog gave her a call.

According to Talermo, the staff didn’t know who dropped the pooch off at their shelter or for what reason.

“At this point, I’m just happy to have him back. He’s fat, so he’s at least been fed,” she added.

As Talermo said in an interview with ABC News months ago after her pooch went missing, Jackson was stolen from her by an unidentified man while she was on a short shopping run.

“It was five minutes and when I came outside he was gone. He’s truly my whole life. He’s a true family member,” she said at the time.

Since then, Talermo spent months sharing missing dog flyers and raising funds to offer a reward for the person who would help her find Jackson.

The doting dog owner also spent $1,200 on a plane banner that spread the message and a link to Talermo’s website across the city.
