Starbucks staff were caught on camera attempting to get rid of a homeless man who was sitting on their chair and enjoying a meal that was paid for by a kind stranger.

Soon after the homeless man received his food, two personnel approached him and told him to leave only for angry customers to confront them and tell them that the man has all the right to sit and eat in peace.

The order was placed by Sajid Kahlon who decided to feed the hungry-looking man he spotted roaming around the streets.

Little did he suspect, however, that Starbucks staff would bring up “a policy of the company” in an attempt to get rid of the homeless man despite eating a paid meal.

“I paid for that, if the food is being bought and he is eating that food. I spent like £8, and he is eating the food. Why can’t he have a seat, is he not human?” Sajid said while confronting the staff.

While the staff continued to push their way and tried to reason with Kahlon, more and more guests were getting upset by the way the homeless man was treated.

“Now he is obviously eating the food, you can’t just ask him to leave. Let him eat the food and he can leave, what’s the problem? He’s eating his lunch, then let him eat the food,” the Good Samaritan added.

The staff then nervously waited for the man to finish his meal and leave.

After the incident, Sajid spoke out to Your Southend and said:

“It was painful to see that someone had to search for food like that. I asked him if he was hungry and if he would like me to buy him some food? He replied yes in a very weak voice.

“But as he was sitting there eating his paid-for lunch, one of the staff members went over to him with a security officer and told him to leave.

“I understand the point of view of Starbucks, but I still feel this type of situation needed to be dealt with more respect and empathy. We are all human and we all get hungry.”
