A wild squirrel was caught on camera paying a visit to her favorite human family in order to get a free peanut.
The adorable moment took place in Portland, Oregon, where a polite, nut-loving squirrel reportedly visits its human friends every morning in search of peanuts.
In the video taken just over two weeks ago, the adorable rodent walked up to the window of the house before peeking inside.
After the homeowner opened the sliding glass door, the squirrel quickly walked up to the man who was holding a peanut in his hand.
“Good morning, would you like another peanut?” the owner asked the little animal before offering the peanut – which the squirrel gladly accepted.
After grabbing the treat with its mouth and fixing it into the right position, the squirrel turned around and ran away.
As the homeowners confirmed, the same adorable squirrel visits them every morning just to get a free snack.
According to the experts, each squirrel is capable of hiding up to ten thousand nuts per year in preparation for the winter. Since these rodents bury nuts in various locations, they have to rely on their memory to locate the hiding spots when needed.
As the experts have claimed, squirrels are capable of recovering the majority of the nuts that they bury whereas their success rate is believed to be whopping high at 90%.
