The abuse began after the 15-year-old victim accidentally spilled a drink at Kyle’s flat. The teen thug requested the schoolboy to lick the drink from the floor and started pounding him with a curtain pole when he refused.

Following the six-hour ordeal, the schoolboy was discovered wandering the streets half-naked at 5 am. While he initially told the police he was robbed, he later on opened up and explained his ‘friends’ had tortured him.

Kyle Ashton was sentenced to 8 years in prison while his accomplices Lucy and Christopher were imprisoned for 4 and 2 years.

“This was a brutal, degrading attack on a 15-year-old boy that was sparked by something as innocuous as spilling a drink on the floor.

“What followed was a prolonged and terrifying ordeal for this young man in which he feared for his own life. All the windows and doors were locked in the house; he had no way to escape and none of the three intervened at any stage to say ‘enough is enough.’

“I wish the victim well in his continued recovery from this episode which understandably has had a significant psychological impact.”
