A giant spider was caught on camera while resting on top of the toilet paper in a public bathroom.
The terrifying photo has gone viral after it was shared on Reddit by an unnamed Australian who wrote: “You have to either wipe or walk away without wiping. Both choices aren’t pleasant.”
As seen in the photo, the huntsman appears to be resting on top of a toilet paper roll inside a public restroom.
After the photo went viral, some people were quick to vow never to visit Australia while others suggested one should always bring a spare roll with them.
“I really wanna go to Australia. I also really don’t want to go to Australia,” someone joked.
“Guess I will have to carry a spare roll in my purse if I visit Australia,” another one wrote.
One person said: “Maybe they make toilet paper packs like we have nose tissue packs.”
While huntsman spiders may bite, they are considered harmless to people and are actually beneficial to the environment. Though they are not dangerous, huntsmen are often feared by people because of their large size, their speed, and their ability to jump.
Nevertheless, we could all use a huntsman or two around our homes, whereas the critters help you clean around by eating insects and cockroaches.
Normally, these spiders are afraid of humans and prefer to stay away from them. Instead, they like to hide in dark and secluded spaces where they are less likely to be disturbed.
In another story involving a giant huntsman, Brooke Thorpe from Tasmania was left speechless after discovering a large spider inside her son’s toy truck.
As seen in the pictures taken by Thorpe, the huntsman appears to be protecting its egg sac while hiding underneath the cargo bed of the toy truck.
Following her discovery, the Tasmanian mother confirmed that the spider won’t be disturbed while insisting her four-year-old son was “pretty happy with his cool find.”
“We have her in a safe spot and once she’s finished, my son can have his toy back,” the mom said.
