The Health Ministry of Spain confirmed the news on Wednesday and said that they are now looking forward to receiving a refund from Shenzhen Bioeasy for the complete order of 640,000 kits.

The tests were problematic because they were not sufficiently sensitive, which means there were chances that the disease would go undetected in the person who had the infection already.

As per the reports, Bioeasy had sent a sample of new kits that were analyzed in Madrid by Carlos III Health Institute and found it to be faulty.

This prompted Spain to cancel the complete order of 640,000 kits. The total order cost is unknown.

From all the kits sent by the Chinese company, the Health Ministry of Spain was forced to send 58,000 of them back in the March-end.

The Health Ministry said in its statement that testing kits supplied to them by Bioeasy was defective and did not diagnose patients when tested at hospitals correctly.
