Going through labor is a painful, but miraculous experience.

To see human life created and a baby breath air for the first time is amazing. During pregnancy, the unborn baby sits in a protective sac, this sac is called the Amniotic Sac. This sac allows for the unborn baby to grow safely inside of the womb. For most pregnancies, the sac breaks, causing the mother’s “water” to break. But the video you’re about to see, one twin was born in a fully in tact amniotic sac. A medical rarity!

Recorded in a hospital in Spain, the video shows an incredibly rare event where a baby was born in a fully in tact amniotic sac. The doctors and nurses were amazed to see such an event, which shows how rare it is to be born like this. Only mere minutes after the first baby was successfully birthed, the second baby was about to become even more of a miracle.

These births are referred to as “en caul” births. Caul meaning “helmeted head” or “veil”. These types of births are incredibly rare and are estimated to happen once every 80,000 births, but it’s also possible to happen even less than that. Truly a unique birth!

In the video you can see the baby curled up inside of the transparent sac. You can see the baby making slight movements and motions as it rests inside of the sac. Also visible is the umbilical cord connected to the baby inside of the sac. As the baby sat on the table, the doctors and nurses gathered around the table to see a miracle of seeing baby born like this. Even they are inspired by the miracle.

Even though I am a bit queasy I do have to wonder what it would’ve been like to see the baby break out of the sac. If you can stomach the video, it is truly a miracle to see the birthing process. Also imagine the twins meeting each other for the very first time outside of the womb.
