S. Armed Forces kicked off, the Space Force has been mocked and accused of copying Star Trek series’ signature logo.

“After consultation with our Great Military Leaders, designers, and others, I am pleased to present the new logo for the United States Space Force, the Sixth Branch of our Magnificent Military,” President Trump wrote as he tweeted the new logo.

Soon after, however, internet users couldn’t help but mock the Space Force and slam it for the logo that looks remarkably similar to the one that first appeared in Star Trek back in 1966.

“Ahem. We are expecting some royalties from this…” Star Trek actor George Takei joked.

“Starfleet called. They want their insignia back,” another Twitter user wrote.

“The only difference here is that the Space Force will be more like Spaceballs instead of Starfleet,” someone said.

After a wave of responses, however, a former Lieutenant of the Space Command, the subdivision of the U.S. Air Force that will now fall under the Space Force, suggested that the new insignia is even more similar to the Space Command logo.

“For those excitedly tweeting that Trump stole the Star Trek logo, the patch on the left was the existing Air Force Command logo. The same one I wore as a Lieutenant in 2005,” he wrote, suggesting that it has long been joked/believed that the popular Star Trek logo was copied.

After the sixth branch of the US Armed Forces unveiled the design for the new ‘camo’ space uniforms, people were quick to warn them there isn’t much greenery and shrubbery floating around in space, rendering the earthly camo design useless.

“How many trees are you expecting to find in space?” one person responded to the photo of the new uniform design.

“Since when is space camouflage color? Shouldn’t the uniforms be black with sequins scattered on them so they twinkle?” another one questioned.

One person wrote: “#SpaceForce uniforms should be no gloss black. That way when you’re lost in space, you’ll be harder to find. If someone is shooting at you … harder to see.”

After a wave of ridicule, the USSF responded and revealed they’re using the current Army uniform design to save on costs of producing a new one.

“USSF is utilizing current Army/Air Force uniforms, saving costs of designing/producing a new one,” they wrote.

“Members will look like their joint counterparts they’ll be working with, on the ground.”
