Sons Of Anarchy Star William Lucking Has Passed Away After Decades Of Successful Career


Veteran actor William Lucking has passed away at his home at the age of 80.

The news of the actor’s death, who was perhaps best known for appearing in 35 episodes of Sons Of Anarchy, has spread after his friend Stephen Macht shared the obituary that William’s wife had penned.

According to the obituary, the actor died at his Las Vegas home on October 18. Despite being known as the ‘tough guy’ in various movies and series, Lucking will always be remembered as the “elegant man with a brilliant intellect,” his wife Sigrid Insull says.

“Although William often played toughs and strongmen, in his actual life he was an elegant man with a brilliant intellect who loved to argue about politics and current affairs, discuss philosophy and physics and assert fine-pointed opinions about art and poetry,” the obituary reads.

“He was a giant of a man with the soul of a poet, one who ‘contained… a tension of sorts within his being… like a boulder teetering on a hill… or a balloon expanding towards its extreme,’ as one friend put it.”

William was best known for his appearance in the Sons Of Anarchy as he played grumpy biker Piney Winston for 35 episodes. Back in the early 1980s, he was also known for his role as Army Col. Lynch on NBC’s The A-Team.

Throughout the decades, the actor also appeared in various movie hits including The Magnificent Seven Ride!, The Crazy World of Julius Vrooder, The Return of a Man Called Horse, The River Wild, Erin Brockovich, The Rundown, and The World’s Fastest Indian.

The actor’s credits also consist of his roles in The Partridge Family, Hart to Hart, Murder, She Wrote, Columbo, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, The West Wing, The Waltons, Mission: Impossible, and Contraband.
