Julie and Andy Kemp, together with their son, were on their way home from church.
They always attend services as a family and they enjoyed spending time together. But that summer had something horrible waiting for them.
An ambulance going back to its station drove through an intersection and crashed into the family’s vehicle.
Sadly, Andy died instantly in the accident. Julie expressed: “I didn’t see what he was yelling at. I didn’t see the ambulance coming, but I remembered him yelling. That was the last thing I heard from him.”
When emergency services arrived, they turned their attention to the mother. They stabilized her but didn’t notice right away that Landon was stuck in the vehicle.
The boy was behind the driver’s seat, which was where the ambulance smashed. Paramedics were doubtful that Landon was alright.
With so much damage to the Kemp’s vehicle, it was hard to see anything on backside. They only knew they had to look for the young boy after seeing a small shoe.
When the paramedics found the 8-year-old boy, he was unresponsive and wasn’t breathing. They airlifted Landon to Carolinas Medical Center but he was in grave condition. He also had to be resuscitated three times.
Doctors told his mom that there was a little chance he would survive, and if he did, he would be like an eight-year-old toddler. Julie prayed hard for her son to survive.
During Andy’s funeral, Julie asked God why he didn’t send angels to protect them. Why did he do this to her family?
Even though she was heartbroken, she continued to pray to keep Landon alive. Two weeks later, her son woke up from a coma. Like a miracle, he didn’t suffer from any brain damage and he will be ok.
She was happy that Landon was alright, but she didn’t know how to tell him about his father.
Julie asked her son: “Do you know where dad is at?”
Landon’s answer surprised her.
“Yes, I know where he’s at. I saw him in heaven.”
He then told her mom that on the day of the incident, he went to heaven and saw his dad among other people he knew who passed away. These people also included two people who told him were his siblings.
Even though Julie never once told her son about that, she had two miscarriages before she gave birth to Landon.
Landon, who was 8 at that time, also said he met Jesus and he was told he still had a lot of work to do on Earth so he had to go back and be a good person.
Landon, who is now 30 years old, says he feels God’s presence in everything. He also devoted his life to Christianity.
