Pregnant Mother Screamed ‘We’re Not Going To Make It’ As Her Husband Desperately Called 911

If you’ve ever gone through pregnancy or known someone who has, you know that pregnancies never go quite according to plan, no matter how well you plan.

If there are any parents that have learned this lesson, it’s certainly these two couples.

Even though many parents know this when they go even for their second or third time, they will still try their best to come up with a foolproof birth plan, but things don’t always go so perfectly.

These birth plans can be incredibly detailed, including where they want to go through labor, what position they want to be in, who is to be allowed in the room, and any other details that the doctor and immediate families should know.

But all of the best laid plans are nothing when it comes to babies, who will be incredibly unpredictable.

One couple, in Montgomery County were watching the snowstorm from inside their home earlier this year in March. The snow, sleet and ice seemed endless, but they were inside where it was nice and warm. Things seemed to be perfect, but then Ashley Velez began to go into labor.

With the snow piling up outside and the streets covered with ice, driving was certainly off the table. The couple needed to decide what they were going to do. The birth plans they had carefully made were of no use. They urgently had to figure out what to do. That’s when her husband decided to call 9-1-1.

Unfortunately, Ashley’s contractions were getting even stronger even as her husband was talking to the dispatcher on the phone. Ashley couldn’t take it anymore and screamed out.

We’re not going to make it!

Thankfully, EMTs were already on their way and arrived moments before baby Gabriela was born.

The EMTs showed up and probably three good rounds of pushes, she was there

With the craziness behind her, Ashley cannot help but love the story of how her baby girl was born.

It is such a cool story and we can’t wait to tell her when she gets older.

Ashley and Gabriela were transported to Holy Cross Hospital after the baby was delivered to make sure they were healthy.

Incredibly, this wasn’t the only baby that decided they were going to be born on that very same night. Not even a hundred miles away in Fairfox County, Virginia another couple were going through the same thing.

The Hill family were forced to call 9-1-1 as they wouldn’t be able to navigate the snowstorm in time to arrive in time to deliver the baby. It seemed as though the baby would have to be born in their apartment, nothing like their original birth plan!

The baby’s father told Fox5 about the tense moments before the paramedics arrived.

I was thinking I don’t want to have this baby in the car and the contractions were happening so fast, I was thinking I don’t think we’re going to make it.

But the Hills much like the Velez family know that this will be an incredible story to tell their child when they grow up.

I imagine every time [the baby] is in a rush to do something, I will be like, ‘Just like the day you were born — always in a hurry.

Both babies were born happy and healthy and both mothers recovered well at the hospitals after some truly stressful moments.

It’s hard to imagine that anyone involved will quite forget the snowstorm of March 2017!
