Mom Says Smacking is Vital to Keep Children in Discipline

Scotland has just passed a new law that said physical violence against a child as well as against an adult will be both treated as an assault.

The assault charged will be considered even if the accuser is the parent of the child.

This is a huge change but a mother says it is important sometime to physically restrain the kids and even slap them if needed to keep them in discipline.

Claire Muldoon appeared on the show This morning and talked about how she thinks “hitting your child is an important part of implementing discipline in them.

Of course, you are not supposed to do that all the time and on everything, they do to trouble or annoy you. But maybe twice or thrice in their life, they may get a beating to know how important being in discipline is.”

She continued “It is all about love. If there is a friend who is getting into trouble with his own actions, would you not go and ask him or her to stop?” “A loving parent should always have the capability of physically punishing their kid. It is not mandatory, but it is liable in some situations.”

Rebecca Wilcox who is also a journalist like Claire said “I had once hit my son when he was just 4 years old.

He had spilled water all over my laptop and I had slapped him in sheer rage. I feel terrible about that and I think as a mother that is my biggest regret.”

She added “I get it that he did something extremely bad but again, I was an adult and he was not. I should have kept myself together before turning into a hypocrite.

I would never do such a thing again. And I would advice all the parents to never get the guilt on your head.”
