Two sisters have gone viral after giving birth not only just feet away from each other but also merely 90 minutes apart.
Brittany Schille and Ashley Carruth are Minnesota sisters who were thrilled to find out they were both pregnant back in April. After going for a check-up, the pair also discovered their due dates were just days apart.
Fast-forward to December, Brittany was set to be induced on the same day her sister, Ashley, went into labor. Since the sisters live just minutes away from each other, they were able to give birth in neighboring rooms at a hospital in Burnsville.
Not only were they just feet away from each other when they welcomed their newborns into their family but they also gave birth just 90 minutes apart.
“Even for the baby showers and things like that, it’s not normal and it’s not what you expect in your head, so it’s hard, but having my sister going through it was just so comforting,” Brittany told WCCO as she opened up about experiencing pregnancy amid the pandemic.
As the family revealed, Ashley went into labor on the morning of December 14 – the same day her sister was scheduled to be induced. After taking to M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital, the sisters were placed in neighboring delivery rooms.
“I did get to say hi, and see her, and we both just gave each other a sweet look. It’s like those moments you think about when you’re a little girl happening in such a special way, so it was very, very emotional for both of us,” Ashley said in an interview with CNN.
As she added, the pair even shared some of the medical staff who were surprised by the unusual scenario that took place at their hospital.
According to the family, Ashley delivered her baby first. She and her husband, John, welcomed a son named Cassius John. 90 minutes later, Brittany and her husband, Joe, welcomed a son named Zander Paul.
As Ashely expressed, the unlikely scenario served as a sign that their late father is watching over them.
“It just seemed like something that he would do. We really felt God’s presence and his presence throughout the whole labor and delivery hospital stay experience that could have been really scary and really weird with COVID, and no visitors, and no family able to come in besides your spouse or your partner,” she said.
