Sister Shares Emotional Message After Brother Got Shot In Mistaken Identity Case


Police officer sister shared an emotional message after her younger brother got fatally shot in a mistaken identity case that left the entire family heartbroken.

20-year-old Alexander Kareem from London, UK, was shot and killed on June 8 in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity.

Following the boy’s tragic death, his sister, 30-year-old police officer Khafi Kareem, expressed that the family “would have taken the bullet for him” if they could.

In an emotional tribute to her brother, Khafi said:

“To anybody who’s seen this and is thinking this is just another black boy who’s been shot by violence, I want to tell you that is not the case.

“Alex’s life mattered, he had a future ahead of him, he’s not just another black boy. He had a family, he had friends, this is real.”

Alexander was reportedly shot dead at Askew Road in west London after leaving a convenience store at around 12.30 am. While the 20-year-old succumbed to the gunshot wound, the shooter(s) managed to escape and is/are still out there.

“There are real lives that have been impacted, real people who are broken. There are so many people who have turned up today and we are here for justice,” the grieving sister added after the funeral.

“I am begging whoever knows anything please find it in your heart to come forward. I feel bad that we’ve had to bury Alex and his killers are still not found, can he really rest in peace when his killers are roaming around?”

As the family explained, Alexander was an “energetic” and “funny” person who loved playing video games and enjoyed computer coding. He was also described as “brainy and intelligent.”

“My mum named him after Alexander the Great, because, even though he’s the youngest, my mum always knew this is where greatness was going to come from in our family,” Khafi expressed.

As the murderer(s) continue to roam freely, the family and the police are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to contact the authorities.
