Single mom Michelle Smith has revealed she turned to escorting to clear a £25,000 ($32,000) card debt.
Smith earns up to £2,500 a month in cash and gifts by going on dates with men aged between 18 and 75, but she says she has never had sex with any of her clients.
The 33-year-old from East London told the Sun Online why she is not ashamed of her sideline.
“When I discovered I had £25,000 of credit card debt from old catalogue spending in my teens, I didn’t know what to do to get myself out of it. I was sick with worry and suffering sleepless nights too.
“I worked in an office on minimum wage and had rent and bills to pay – there was no way I could clear it. I was telling a friend about it one night and she said she had a sure-fire way to make money easily – by working as an escort. She told me she was doing it and raking it in.
“She told me to start advertising on a social media site called Faceparty, where I uploaded pictures and explained I was available for dates. And it wasn’t long before the clients came flooding in.
“There is no typical client. I’ve even kept a woman company one night – she just wanted a girlie mate to go out with.
“Clients don’t pay me for my time – but, if they want to, they give me gift. Most people give me between £150 and £250 a night, but that’s their choice – and it means I don’t have to pay tax as I’m not really charging for my services.
“I have received everything from jewelry and clothes to champagne. One guy even got me a red Jessica Rabbit bodycon dress. I’ve been given £1000 diamonds and an £800 dress.
“The guys who have booked me as an escort have ranged in age from 18 to 75.
“The man in his mid-seventies was recently widowed. He just wanted a pretty face on his arm to have a chat with over some fish and chips. He gifted me a couple of hundred quid for the privilege.
“I’m young, I’m not bad looking, I know my figure with 36L natural boobs is to many men’s tastes – so why not?
“I’ve been given £1,000 worth of diamonds, an £800 dress and I’ve even been taken to Michelin starred restaurants in London by clients.
“One lovely guy once handed over £500 cash on the night when I told him I had debts to pay off. One December I received over £2,500.”
She also added: “Guys do fall in love with me all the time. I’ve even been asked to move to Dubai by one client. He wanted to put me up in a flat. I must have been crazy to turn it down!
“Like loads of young women I thought I was clever when I applied for – and maxed out – credit cards, catalogues and went into my overdraft. I’ve got expensive tastes. I like nice things – I’m far from alone.”
