Motherhood is a very beautiful thing but can be extremely challenging especially for a student who has to juggle both going school and raising a baby.
More so as a single mother, one inevitably has to miss classes and make compromises most of the time. What a pity!
However, in a rare turn of events, one truly lucky student-mother was pleasantly surprised when she learned quickly that her teacher might be a little more forgiving and understanding towards her situation in a tweet that has gone viral.
On June 11th, a twenty-one-year-old blonde, brilliant and energetic girl by the names of Morgan King was caught between a rock and a hard place when she had to choose between going for lectures and staying home to take care of her baby girl.

Morgan King is a student at the University of Tennessee where she is pursuing a career in therapeutic recreation. She has to study while at the same time she has to raise her little girl Korbyn. No matter the challenges she’s faced with on a daily basis, Morgan is very determined to secure a bright future for her beloved daughter and herself. What a forward thinking girl!
Unfortunately, she had to sadly miss class because no one was available to watch her baby girl at that time and she could not even afford a nanny. However, her professor, Sally B. Hunter immediately noticed that she was missing in class and he inquired why. He later found out that she had missed class because she had to attend to her daughter. Guess what she did?
Hunter told Morgan in a letter that she was free to bring her baby girl to class with her in future so that she doesn’t miss out on the valuable information given at school. How cool!
She wrote,
“In the future, if you are having trouble finding someone to watch Korbyn, please feel free to just BRING HER with you to class. I would be absolutely delighted to hold her while I teach so that you can still pay attention to the class and take notes.

She further added that she worked for the Department of ‘CHILD and FAMILY Studies’ and that it would be terrible if she was unwilling to have a child visit their class.

“I’m very serious about this offer—just bring Korbyn with you,”

she insisted. Morgan was extremely overwhelmed with happiness and joy that she posted a photo of this letter to Twitter.
In no time, people were already commenting on the photo, showing both Morgan and Professor Hunter compassion and love.
The professor took her new fame in stride, going back and forth with her student about the attention that they were quickly getting from the internet for being a baby-friendly classroom!
Although the fame was nice, the core message from this story is even more important- we need to work hard to push working or studying mothers in order to give them the opportunity to grow even while their child is in infancy. It is such a pity that a lot of young mothers are fighting an uphill battle to increase their career potential while raising a child, so by helping them along the way, we can help others be the best they can be at every step.

Professors like Sally B. Hunter are proof that there is a lot of compassion and love to give, and that there will always be a way to integrate motherhood into education to help mothers accomplish all of their goals.
