Here Are Some Signs That Could Help You Understand Your Baby Better


Infants can’t express their feelings with words and crying is the only tool which they use to tell what they want or how are they feeling.

Sometimes it is difficult for parents to understand what their baby needs and what is the reason for discomfort.

But, you don’t need to worry about this problem anymore as experts outlined methods that can help babies communicate with adults. Here is the list of signs that can help you understand your baby better.

Crying to call you: As we mentioned above that crying is the main way for babies to express their feelings. When a baby doesn’t see their parents around for a long time, they start crying for 5-6 seconds and then pause for 20 seconds. But when they don’t see any result, the process repeats until their parents come.

Crying because of hunger: When a baby is hungry they would cry until you pick them to start feeding. They rotate their head and start making smacking sounds with their mouth in hunger.

Crying in pain: This cry is actually very loud and becomes hysterical to indicate that the pain is increasing. However, babies who fell sick cry in slow voice also as they don’t have enough strength to make loud noises.

Crying because of sleepiness: When a baby wants to sleep they would rub their eyes and ears. They even cry smoothly and yawn to indicate they want to take a nap.

Babies’ body language tells a lot about their well-being and here are some signs what a baby wants to say through their actions.

Rotating head: Babies rotate their head either they want to sleep or when they are around strangers. 

Arching back: Babies under 2 months often make this movement. If they arch their back during feeding session then it means they are full and don’t want to eat more.

Clenching fist: Babies usually clench their fists when they are hungry. If you want to prevent them from crying then feed them when you notice them clenching their fist.

Lifting legs: This is a sign of showing colic and tummy pain. When babies lift their legs, it means they are trying to ease the pain.

Jerking arms: This sign indicates that the baby is frightened of something. It can be anything such as loud sound, bright light, or sudden awakening. You need to comfort your baby in this situation.
