There’s always strength behind every relationship. And when it comes to a teacher-student bond, there’s always a special promise made by both ends when in need.
And the proof has been got with this recent news. Meet the math teacher who becomes his students’ home right when the sick kid was in need of stable housing to get a kidney.
The teacher, known as Finn Lanning teaches the math classes in the middle school named as the AXL Academy which is in Aurora, specifically in Colorado.
When he met the 13-year-old Damien (his student), it was in the month of August. Little did he know about the unfortunate thing that was soon to happen in his student’s life!
While Damien was only an 8-years-old kid, he was suffering from kidney failure. The youngster needed to hook up to the home dialysis machine for about 12 hours. According to the condition that he’s suffering from, he is required to stay on a strict diet on a regular basis.
On a further note, has also been in and out of multiple foster homes ever since he encountered kidney failure. Whenever he suffered from massive medical issues, he was sent to the hospital immediately.
Every time the kid was sent to many hospitals, and he then was also removed from transplant listssince he was unable and unstable and it was high-risk for the organ failure.
The kid was in the hospital for a total of three months right before he comes across Lanning. The recent news claims that this fellow teacher started to take time off to train Damien’s caregiver. Even he has his colleagues who donate money for this little kid.
Damien’s restrictive diet demands him to follow an expensive grocery list which can cost a total of about $200 every week. And the best part is, despite being non-biological at blood, the student and the teacher shares a great bonding amongst each other.
