Sharon Osbourne refuted Sheryl Underwood’s claims as she proved she did apologize to The Talk host after offending her during a March 10 discussion.
The 68-year-old British-American TV personality was forced off CBS’s The Talk show after a heated argument with her co-host that took place as she defended Piers Morgan against racism allegations following Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview.
During the discussion, Osbourne lashed out at Underwood who accused her co-host of downplaying Morgan’s comments after the British critic refused to believe Meghan’s allegations.
“Educate me, tell me when you have heard him say racist things,” Osbourne demanded on March 10 as she told Underwood not to cry because she should be the one crying.
“I very much feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist?”
Following the fiery exchange, Osbourne was forced to walk off the CBS talk show.
While Underwood insisted her former co-host and friend never apologized in her recent podcast, Osbourne now proved her claims are false as she shared a series of texts in which her apology to Sherly fell on deaf ears, Daily Mail revealed.
Speaking to the publication about Underwood’s claims, the 68-year-old said: “I not only sent these messages to Sheryl but I apologized to her in person in her dressing room.
“Why are you saying I never apologized Sheryl? What are you trying to do to me? Why are you trying to destroy my reputation? Just be honest. Tell me.”
As it happens, Osbourne texted Underwood on several occasions after their March 10 dispute.
On March 12, she wrote a lengthy message that, according to Daily Mail, read as follows:
“Sheryl, My heart is heavy and I’m deeply saddened by the events that transpired on Wednesday. I don’t want to lose my true friend over this. Im sorry for telling you to f*** off during the break, I’m sorry for accusing you of fake crying while we were live on air and I’m sorry for losing my temper with you.
“I felt shocked, scared and saddened by what felt like was a blind sided attack. You know me. You know how I’ve always had your back. We’ve outlasted everyone on this show and that’s because we’ve always been a team and had each other’s backs.
“I consider you a genuine friend. If you want to talk on the phone over the weekend I’m here. Once again from the bottom of my heart I’m sorry. Is there anything You need from me or that I can do to help you heal? Love and respect always – Sharon.”
On March 15 and March 18, Osbourne continued to attempt to close the gap between her and her friend by apologizing and asking Underwood if the two could talk.
“Hi Sheryl. I know you’re taking space and I don’t want to disrespect that. I’m just reaching out because I want you know I’m thinking about you. If you are willing, can we talk before Wednesday? Big kiss,” the 68-year-old wrote in a March 15 text to Underwood.
On March 18, she added: “Sheryl I am thinking about you. Hope you are well. Sending my love.”
