Shanghai Disney Resort Reopened To Public Amid Coronavirus Pandemic


Shanghai Disneyland has been opened again for the public amid the virus pandemic.

After the corona outbreak, the Magic Kingdom was closed to the visitors for an inordinate time. But the park is now opening again with enhanced safety measures.

Shanghai Disney Resort will be putting in place new procedures and health measures, according to a press release.

The new SOPs include increasing the frequency of disinfection and sanitization; ensuring social distancing in ride vehicles, queues, restaurants, and other facilities in the park; and opening with a reduced number of visitors with advanced reservations.

In order to keep the number of attendees to the lowest possible, a limited number of tickets were made available for sale from May 8.

According to the press release, the majority of the park’s rides and attractions, as well as its shopping, dining, and entertainment locations, will be opened.

However, kids’ play areas, theater shows, and some other interactive attractions will not be opened.

Hand sanitizers will be made available at all restaurants, stores, and attractions present in the park. And the frequency of disinfecting measures will be further increased.

The visitors will have to wear face masks at all times and will have to undertake a temperature screening upon arrival at the park.

Prior to arriving at the park, the visitors will have to register for a Health QR Code. This code will be presented to the park at the entrance.

Only the people having a green health code would be allowed to enter.

The press release further said that the park “looks forward to recognizing and celebrating medical professionals who helped to make the reopening possible at an appropriate time in the near future.”

Joe Schott, the president of Shanghai Disneyland, said in a statement: “We hope that today’s reopening serves as a beacon of light across the globe, providing hope and inspiration to everyone.”
