The dreams and aspirations of Sha’Carri Richardson ended after she tested positive for marijuana recently, leaving so many people in absolute shock. Moreover, the entire case was a controversial one, to begin with as many hoped she would be forgiven and allowed to compete, after apologizing for her behavior and admitting to taking the banned substance.

However, after the confirmation of her results, things appeared rather gloomy for the sprinting sensation, after many rumors revolved around her 30-day suspension. Hence, that meant she would officially miss the Olympic games which are scheduled to take place this month.

Richardson appeared on the Late Show where she apologized for her behavior and also explained how she suffered through great mental trauma after her mother had passed away, right before her qualification at Oregon last month. Hence, the star admitted to smoking cannabis to help alleviate her mental pain.

Sadly, that excuse just wasn’t good enough as the country’s leading committees failed to take in any form of sympathy or side regarding her status, suspending her immediately. But still, there was a glimmer of hope as a number of celebrities and renowned personalities came to the star’s defense.

While some called the laws racist, others felt it was unfair to suspend her over one single incident. But after the news went viral about how the selectors failed to include her on the country’s relay squad, many took to Twitter to express their anger.
