As technology advances, just about everything became more accessible and convenient.
But, at the same time, we’ve seen a lot of bad things happening because of such developments.
And one of these has to do with hidden cameras that record people in facilities such as the hotel rooms or public bathrooms.
Recently, The Monroe County Sheriff department reported of several incidents in which micro-sized cameras were found in women’s public bathrooms.
And these cameras were installed as a part of coat hooks or purse hooks that could easily be seen in such facilities.

As soon as they found the first one, every public bathrooms in Monroe County has been checked for hidden cameras, and the police has been urging business owners to keep an eye on similar objects in their bathroom stalls.
“If you find anything suspicious you think might contain a hidden camera, don’t touch it. Call us right away and we will respond,” said Sheriff Ramsay from the Monroe County police department.
These problematic hidden cameras are available nationwide, which means such illegal recordings may be happening everywhere.

As you can see, these devices look like normal coat hooks that can be bought from any store. So if you don’t know what to look for, it’s easy to become the victim.
Unlike the standard coat hooks, however, you will find a very small hole in the upper area if you look closely at these devices. This part is the lens that records everything you do, since it’s motion activated.
This also means that it will keep recording until it runs out of battery, or of storage space.
The worst part is that these secret cameras can be bought by anyone, without having to go through any checking points. The part of the reason why it’s so accessible is because it was initially developed to act as security cameras at various places. Unfortunately, some people have been maliciously using it to spy on others.
