Coronavirus Cases In Seattle Are Going Down On The Curve After Strict Lockdown Measures


About 2 months ago, Seattle became the first city in the USA to register a case of coronavirus.

The man who came out positive with the new virus had just returned from Wuhan city of China, the epicenter of the outbreak.

By March 1, the virus had spread throughout the city, making it the center of the outbreak in the USA. It had spread in the nursing facility making hundreds of people infected and killing several of them.

To fight the war against the virus and to protect lives, Seattle became the very first city to act on a lockdown in the US.

Restaurants and offices were closed down, schools were closed down, public places were restricted, and people were strictly advised to stay inside their homes.

The new data were taken out of the city then showed how the measures taken are working in the right way. The restrictive measures are working as the spread of the virus has declined.

As per research taken out by Disease Modeling in Bellevue, it shows that the numbers of positive cases are rising with the slowest numbers in Washington City in comparison to any other city in the country.

Social distancing measures have been taken in action and have helped in slowing the pace of infection.

The researches were conducted through test results, the number of deaths recorded, traffic records, and mobile phone use, to extract their findings.

Seattle and King County in total has 2,159 cases together. About 16,280 people were tested for the virus and 14,121 people have tested negative on the test. Sadly, 141 deaths were also recorded in the city.

The team also says that because the data is still new and there are a lot of chances it may change in the coming weeks, it is important to keep the restrictions active to further protect people of the city.
