Scientologists believe that Tom Cruise is a deity and encourage people to see his movies multiple times.
Leah Remini, a Scientologist, has never been shy when it comes to revealing secrets of the Church of Scientology and its most famous member.
The King of Queens star, 48, has said Tom Cruise is like a god to the members of the church.
Remini told Page Six: “[Cruise is] considered a deity within Scientology. He is second to David Miscavige — the savior of the free world.”
It was also reported that lower-ranking Scientologists are told to watch Cruise’s films, with thousands of tickets bought for his Jack Reacher and Mission: Impossible franchises to increase his box office.
Bree Mood, an ex-Scientologist, said: “Tom Cruise was a god in the lower ranks. Every time a Tom Cruise movie came out they’d buy all his tickets. It could be 500, 1,000, up to 2,500 people. I’m not kidding.”
The actor has been a member of the church since 1990. He is also known for his close relationship with David Miscavige, the current leader of Scientology.
According to Scientology blog, The Underground Bunker, Cruise’s importance was evident when he and fellow Scientologist John Travolta were placed center at the L Ron Hubbard Birthday Event in Florida.
The remarks came after Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s daughter Isabella mentioned the church for providing the missing piece in her life.
In an email shared with London based Scientologists, the 26-year-old said she was ‘drowning in problems’ before becoming an auditor.
“It turned out it was exactly what I needed. I dragged out the testing and correction, just made it through the drilling and then finally began my auditing adventure, and wow, I wasn’t prepared. This IS what I had been searching for. The missing piece,” she wrote.
It was in 1992 when Cruise and Kidman adopted Isabella. Her brother, who was adopted three years later, is also a practicing Scientologist.
