For millions of years, we have been living on this beautiful Earth without realizing that there are hundreds and hundreds of other planets in the Space.
In the modern world, we are aware of how we can reach up to a place that is not our Earth. Scientists and astronauts have been working for years and years to find if there is any other source of life in this universe or are humans the only one.
In the same research, the scientists say they have found a super-Earth and the planet has water.
The ‘super-Earth’ that is about 110 light-years away from us is said to be twice the size of our home planet and is 8 times in its mass. The planet has an atmospheric condition that can sustain life and the scientists at University College London have also found water vapor in the atmosphere of K2-18b.
K2-18b has its stars much closer than Earth has the sun which means that the new life sustain planet has shorter years, 33 days a year to be exact.
NASA’s spacecraft Kepler was the one to find this planet for the first time in 2015 but the new researches have found things about the planet that were not found before.
The Current equipment the scientists are using for the planet doesn’t just reveal the basic things like the distance of the planet and about the surface or the temperature but it has also been able to identify the water molecules that are present in the atmosphere.
The tools developed in UCL are advanced and has worked great for the research.
The presence of water in the atmosphere says that there is a possibility that the planet has an icy world inside or a rocky world filled with water.
