Scientists Created A Model To Show How Office Workers Could Look In 20 Years


Eyes getting tired by staring at your screen for a long time and sitting in the same position for a long time could be harmful for your body.

Well, it might scare you but you’re on the way to becoming an ‘Emma.’ This life-size model was created scientifically to warn you about your future.

Research says, if workplaces and habits during working don’t change soon, people will be changed physically and emotionally in 20 years.

The change could be a permanently hunched back, varicose veins and red, bloodshot eyes. 

According to the survey, more than 3,000 workers in France, Germany and the UK, experts team from the fields of ergonomics, occupational health, and professional well-being predicted that office environment can change the human body.

According to the William Higham, a behavioral futurist and author of the report, said: “The Work Colleague Of The Future report shows that employers and workers need to act now and address the problem of poor workplace health.

“Unless we make radical changes to our working lives, such as moving more, addressing our posture at our desks, taking regular walking breaks or considering improving our work station set up, our offices are going to make us very sick.”

According to The Mirror, a study held by office equipment supplier Fellowes – says that 50 percent of UK workers are suffering from sore eyes, 49 percent from sore backs and 48 percent from headaches due to their stressful workspace.

The study also highlighted about vision problems (32 percent), weight gain (30 percent), and persistent headaches and migraines (26 percent). These conditions were on the top in the UK.

Office workers spent an average of six hours in one place while working every day. According to the researchers.

A list has been created to predict our future health issues. A permanently bent back due to sitting for a long time in one place, varicose veins due to poor blood flow, a rotund stomach caused by sedentary working.

There are more health issues like: dry, red eyes from staring at a computer screen for hours, swollen wrists and ankles due to continuous hand movements, sallow skin as we sit under artificial lights, red upper arms from laptop heat, eczema due to stress and hairy nose and ears because of the poor air quality.
