During the discussion, the council worker allegedly forced Year 11 students who are male, white, and Christian to stand in front of the class before branding them as privileged oppressors.

After the unusual ‘lesson’, furious parents as well as some local councilors were quick to condemn the worker’s actions and brand her “disgraceful.”

“Reverse racism is becoming more prevalent and not only does it not belong in our schools, but those who hold these toxic views are not morally or intellectually superior to others,” Councilor Cameron Howe wrote on Facebook after parents began complaining about the incident.

Meanwhile, the councilor, along with several other parents, called for the youth worker to be fired over her controversial teachings.

“The council needs to take this extremely seriously, there are a lot of furious parents of young boys and we need guarantees that something like this will never happen again,” one father expressed.

As for the students, they too apparently felt “shocked” by the youth worker’s behavior.

“It was so messed up, we thought for a moment it was a joke, but then we realized it wasn’t and we were so upset and angry by it all,” one female student revealed in an interview with the Herald Sun.

As the girl told the publication, the male students felt “targeted” and “ashamed” after the worker branded them as oppressors in front of the entire class.

“She basically said straight, white, Christian males were oppressors and they held all the power and privilege in society,” the student added.
