Towson’s Loch Raven High School, a public school near Baltimore, has been scrutinized by Republican lawmakers after a picture of Trump along with a swastika and the Soviet Union symbol was shown to the students along with biased captions.

“Oh, THAT is why it sounds so familiar!” the text on the left said, while the caption at the top of Trump’s picture read: “WANTS TO ROUND UP A GROUP OF PEOPLE AND BUILD A GIANT WALL”

Below the picture of Trump, ‘BEEN THERE’ is noted on the photo of the swastika and ‘DONE THAT’ on the picture of the Soviet Union symbol.

According to The Baltimore Sun, state delegate Kathy Szeliga ensured that the school’s response along with the copies of the presentation in question was sent to a fellow lawmaker.

“It is horrific. It is educational malfeasance,” she said during a delegation meeting.

Slamming the inappropriate slide and its appearance in a classroom was also Wade Kach, a Baltimore County Councilman, who branded the slide “a piece of propaganda.”

After the backlash, the school maintained innocence and claimed the slide wasn’t provided to history teachers by the system.

“The topics being discussed in the class included World Wars and the attempts by some leaders throughout history to limit or prevent migration into certain countries. In isolation and out of context with the lesson, the image could be misunderstood,” Baltimore County Public Schools said in a statement.

“In our Advanced Placement (AP) classes, which are college level courses, we expect and encourage analysis and discussion around historical and current events even if they are considered controversial.

“This lesson was not intended to make a political statement. If a student has concerns when discussing a controversial issue, schools have the tools to address the concern and support the student.”
