A creepy unexplained footage of a ‘ghost’ causing a disturbance in an Irish school has gone viral on the internet with people across the globe freaked out at the scenes the video shows.
The CCTV footage recorded at the school in Ireland, Deerpark CBS, shows the school lockers heavily shaking, contents of a locker flying, and a wet floor sign being completely destroyed.
The principal of the school said the video was real and none of the act could have been caused by mischievous kids since the footage was recorded at 3 am in the morning.
The paranormal activity starts when a door at the end of the corridor is seen to be opening and slamming shut with a loud bang. A few seconds later, some lockers can be seen violently shaking.
After that, a locker flies open and its contents spilled out onto the ground.
But the activity doesn’t end here and the ‘ghost’ aggressively slams a wet floor sign to the ground before the video comes to an end.
“If it’s a prank we don’t know how it was done. Motion sensors were set off at this time, that’s how it was caught,” the school’s headteacher, Aaron Wolfe, told UNILAD.
“The female members of staff do complain that this particular part is extremely cold. It’s also outside the Religion Room – which is weird. Our caretaker has worked in the school for over 30 years he recalls many stories of ‘paranormal activity’.
“For example on one occasion the school was hosting an exotic bird show, and the birds arrived the day before, because the organizers were worried that someone might break in and steal the birds, someone had to stay overnight.
“That person left the school in the middle of the night – they refused to stay any longer as they said that they heard ‘the last call’ being played on a trumpet – of course this could have just been the wind?!
“The school is a spooky place, especially at night, it’s an old fashioned building. One student George Long was convinced last year he heard someone crying in one of the toilet cubicles. He thought it might be a first year so called the Deputy Principal – there was no one there – maybe moaning Myrtle???
“Also, someone on our Facebook page reports that the lights in the building go on and off at night.”
The freaked out internet users have been trying to figure out a logic behind the happenings in the video. While some tried to find the mechanism by which some prankster could have pulled this prank, many believed the story about the ghost to be true.
One person wrote: “If this is faked, then how does the locker open with all the books and papers spread in this way?
“If it would be a wire they would spread more a symmetric style but they just randomly spread just as like someone would’ve stood right in front of it with his hands in the locker pulling all just out.”
