The scent of human remains has been found on the land owned by the husband of missing Colorado mother Suzanne Morphew,
Daily Mail reported.
The 49-year-old mother was reported missing from her home in May after her two daughters, Macy and Mallory, were unable to reach her.
Since her disappearance, only her bicycle was found on a bridge close to her house in Maysville.
Her concerned brother, Andrew Moorman, decided to raise money to pay for a search.
Cadaver dogs managed to pick up her scent on a wooded site 15 miles away from their home. Another search using different cadaver dogs got another human scent.
The FBI will now conduct a dig on the site where cadaver dogs picked up the scent.
Moorman from Indiana has been in Colorado searching for his sister since the announcement of her disappearance. He is being aided by investigators from the FBI and CBI and the local police department.
In an interview with Daily Mail, Moorman said her sister’s husband, Morphew, 52, refused to cooperate in the search but allowed him access to his $1.5 million property.
The worried brother said he was told by investigators that Morphew’s home stank of chlorine days after her sister disappeared.
“I think it’s really odd. I know we’re in Covid-19 but most people don’t clean with chlorine. I know the hotel did not,” Moorman expressed.
“That kind of bothers me to be honest. It seems like you’re trying to cover up something.”
He added: “I couldn’t fathom it. It floored me. I jumped on a plane the same day and flew down here to try to find her.
“They found her bicycle and that was all. No trace of her which is awfully weird.”
At least 100 volunteers have spent hours looking for items and pieces of clothing that might lead to Suzanne.
“My sister was murdered,” Moorman said. “And she was hidden within a three-and-a-half-hour window. I can draw a circle on that and tell you she’s within that circle. And that’s what I know happened.”
Morphew hasn’t taken part in the search and Suzanne’s brother says he should’ve taken a lie detector and voice analysis.
“I think he should have done a lie detector and voice analysis. I know that’s not admissible in court but it kind of clears you,” Moorman added.
“It says, look, I’m here and I’ll tell you everything you need to know. I’ll take several of them if you need me to. And that didn’t happen. That kind of made me suspicious as well.”
