He was serving three life sentences for murdering three women in Los Angeles in the 1980s.  However, he confessed to many more murders that occurred across the country, and the FBI called him the most prolific serial killer in the US history.

He admitted to strangling 93 women between 1970 and 2005. Most of the killings took place in Southern California and Florida.

It was in 2018 when the confessions started after he was interviewed by Texas Ranger James Holland, who was searching for further information about a killing in Odessa.

Christina Palazzolo, an FBI crime analyst, said: “Over the course of that interview in May, he went through city and state and gave Ranger Holland the number of people he killed in each place. Jackson, Mississippi — one; Cincinnati, Ohio— one; Phoenix, Arizona — three; Las Vegas, Nevada — one.”

In 2019, FBI officials said they believed Little’s confessions were credible as they managed to verify 50 of them.

“Nothing he’s ever said has been proven to be wrong or false,” Holland told CBS. He described him as both a sociopath and a genius, adding the attacker could never explain why he did what he did.

The numbers surpassed those of other notorious serial killers, Ted Bundy (36), Killer Clown John Wayne Gacy, (33), and Gary Ridgeway (49).
