When a homeless man asked for loose cash from a customer sitting outside a bar, the good Samaritan did something which has left the internet in awe.
The kind man gave him his bank card and also disclosed the pin code so that the homeless guy could withdraw funds for himself.
The incident happened outside Harry’s Bar and Restaurant, on Grey Street, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
In a video clip that captured the incident, a bearded man who’s apparently homeless can be seen approaching a customer.
The bearded guy, who is probably in his twenties, was wearing a jacket and jogging bottoms.
As he approaches the customer sitting outside the bar, the two of them have a short conversation before the dining man gives him a thumbs-up.
The homeless man then hands over a piece of paper to the dining man and shows him £20 (around $26).
It was later revealed that the dining man had given his bank card to the homeless guy to withdraw money from a nearby ATM, located outside a Co-Op bank on the opposite side of the road.
The two men then share a handshake as well as a friendly exchange before the homeless guy leaves.
The footage was recorded by 27-year-old Jack Fada, a builder who was seated near the kind-hearted man. Fada, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, later posted the video to Facebook, leaving the social media users in amazement at the diner’s kindness.
Fada later revealed how he managed to capture the kind-hearted act on camera.
‘I was working as a builder demolishing the old Legends nightclub which is downstairs to Harry’s bar,’ he said.
‘I would go outside now and then for fresh air and a cuppa and I see loads of homeless people sleeping and begging, so when I saw what was happening, I started to record.
‘I’ve worked all over the country and I don’t think anyone is as kind as us Geordies.’
Sharing the clip on Facebook, Fada wrote: ‘Homeless man goes up to a group of people and asks for money.
‘The bloke gives him his bank card and PIN number and tells him to take 20 quid for himself. Don’t dare tell me Newcastle isn’t the greatest place on Earth.’
The kind-hearted gesture was also praised by internet users.
Leslie Appleton commented on the video: ‘Renewed my faith in human nature after all the bad things that are happening up and down the country.’
Stacey Earl-Brown wrote: ‘What an absolute legend.’
Marie Henderson added: ‘Wow what a legend. Geordies are the best.’
Claire Walmsley wrote: ‘Aw top bloke and even better top bloke for bringing bank card back.’
Loreto Surridge said: ‘Still some very nice gentlemen. Well done.’
