The actor had read news about the stuffed toy, which has a huge sentimental value for Mara Soriano.

Mara’s mother, Marilyn Soriano, passed away last year. But before she died, she recorded her voice and placed it inside the Build-a-Bear, saying: ‘I love you, I’m proud of you, I’ll always be with you.’

But the stuffed toy was nowhere to be found when Mara and her fiancé were unloading their van in Canada on July 24.

After seeing the heartbreaking story circulating online, Reynolds retweeted the post from CBC reporter Deborah Goble and said: “Vancouver: $5,000 to anyone who returns this bear to Mara. Zero questions asked. I think we all need this bear to come home.”

In an interview with CBC, Mara said: “Lo and behold on the security footage, this guy was seen looking around, making sure nobody was looking first.

“And he just took the bag and ran.”

She added: “At hospice her voice was different. Much softer. Not the mom I grew up with.

“That bear is the last memory I have of her speaking in her normal voice. She said that she loved me and she was proud of me and that she’ll always be with me.”

Aside from her iPad and the bear, Mara’s bag also contained her citizenship card, a book of blank cheques, social insurance cards, their passports, and other important documents.

But she no longer cares about other items. She just wants the bear back.

“It just makes me feel devastated,” she expressed. “I’m absolutely crushed.”
