A renowned Russian microbiologist has recently claimed that coronavirus is the outcome of Wuhan scientists doing crazy things in the laboratory.
Professor Petr Chamakov, who is widely known in the world, claimed that their aim was to understand the virus’s pathogenicity and not because of malicious intent to create a manmade killer.
The professor is a chief researcher in Moscow’s molecular biology institute. He said that Wuhan scientists had been actively indulged in the development of several coronavirus variants for more than ten years.
He added the intention of doing so was not to create pathogenic variants but to understand their pathogenicity. He said that in his opinion, they did crazy things, such as inserting in the genome that gave coronavirus the power to infect human cells.
He further added that everything has been analyzed and the clear picture of how the virus was created was slowly emerging. He explained that there were numerous inserts such as replacement of the genome’s natural sequence that gave it special powers.
He noted that it was interesting that the Americans and the Chinese who worked with them had published their works in the open press.
He demanded regarding the initiation of an investigation that builds new rules regarding regulating how scientists work with the genomes of dangerous viruses.
The professor believes that it is too early to put blame on anyone. He is also connected to the Federal Research Centre for the R&D of Immunobiological Preparations of Russia.
The spokesperson of Vladimir Putin warned against allegations that the virus was manmade.
Dmitry Peskov said that in a situation where sufficient information was not available, it was impossible and unacceptable to accuse anyone like that.
Even the ex-health minister of Russia noted that without a thorough study, nothing could be concluded about the origin of coronavirus.
