Mr. Limbaugh passed away on February 17 after battling lung cancer for a year. For over 30 years, the popular radio host stayed true to his conservative views and managed to rack up millions of listeners across the nation as the voice of the Republican party – something that his family clearly wanted to be reflected on his death certificate.

As it is believed, the person behind the bold statement on the death certificate is likely Rush’s wife, Kathryn Limbaugh, since she was the one who provided the information for the document.

“I’m doing okay. Of course, it’s a very difficult time. But I really, truly feel we are all going through this process together, and it’s very much a process,” the widow admitted in an interview with Todd Herman, a frequent guest host of The Rush Limbaugh Show.

Speaking of her late husband’s funeral, the 44-year-old added:

“It was an absolutely gorgeous day, slightly chilly, but nothing like the snow that Missouri had had a few days prior. The sun was shining brightly and the really crisp air, and this cemetery is very historic.

“And just to picture it, it might remind you a bit of Arlington or other historic cemeteries around the world, with winding hills and pathways and big trees that are bare right now but in the upcoming months they will be full and green and very lovely to walk around.”

Proving just how highly she thought of her husband, Kathryn said she “always said Rush is just shy of a president.”
