A 44 year old New Yorker was taken into custody by the New York Police Department on Saturday after he was accused for soliciting underage girls for sexual relations by promising Netflix and marijuana.
The victim is being reported as being 16 years old.
The suspect’s name has been identified as Martin Rudner from Brooklyn. He was taken into custody three quarters past noon on Saturday. He faces charges for sexual assault of a minor.
According to the victim, she first met the suspect on a train headed towards Brooklyn just days before the alleged attack took place. She claimed that Rudner first approached her on the train, and after a brief conversation, the two exchanged phone numbers.
After maintaining contact via text messages, the victim claimed that Rudner asked that the two set up a time for their “date” later in the same week. On Friday night, the suspect and the victim met at the Holiday Inn Hotel and headed to the room together.
According to an interview with the New York Post, an officer from the NYPD said they have secured evidence that shows Rudner luring the victim into the situation, saying they could smoke weed, get some food and watch Netflix in the hotel room.
In her testimony to the police, the victim said she was given a pill around 11:30pm that made her extremely drowsy. At this point, Rudner attempted to remove the victims clothing against her wishes, who clearly told Rudner that she was a minor and did not consent to his acts.
The suspect has been charged with a multitude of crimes ranging from assault, sexual assault and the possession and usage of substances. Although the details of the situation are not clear, the victim is said to have cut her thumb when she tried to remove a blade of some sort from Rudner.
As this is a developing story, we will keep you updated on this story as more news comes in. So far, no one at the hotel seemed to have known or witnessed something strange, which may complicate the case a bit further due to the lack of a witness to corroborate.
