The tennis pro, Roger Federer made a young tennis fan’s day as he gave her a sweet gift. Roger, 36, gave the young fan his headband after his first-round Wimbledon win on Monday.
After Federer’s Centre Court victory over Dusan Lajovic, Mihika Joshi, an aspiring tennis player, held up a sign asking for his headband.
Watch the video below:
The young fan made her way to the front row and waved a bright yellow placard that read:
‘Roger can I have your headband pleeease!!’
The crowds cheered as Roger reached into his bag and pulled out the headband he had worn during his victory over Dusan Lajovic and handed it over.
Mihika’s father said: ‘I don’t think she’ll sleep tonight!’ While asked about the incidence, Mihika said:
“It was a dream come true. I was thrilled to receive the headband.” “I did not know if I would get it as it depended on if we got seats close enough to where Federer signs autographs.”
The young fan also told that she already has Federer’s autograph when she saw him play at Wimbledon for the first time in 2013. She was just eight years old then.
Her father, Abhijeet Joshi, 43, said: ‘Mihika is a serious tennis player – she trains six days a week – and dreams of playing at Wimbledon herself one day.’
