It wasn’t so long ago that Rodrigo Alves came out as a transgender woman but she is already flaunting her looks and wished her journey had started even earlier.
She was sensational as she arrived in Milan on January 17 with a pair of skin-tight jeans paired with a Gucci belt, red silk shirt, and patent leather ankle boots.
And to make sure her ensemble was complete, the 36-year-old media personality also had a cabin-sized Gucci case and matching holdall back.
She had only spoken to MailOnline about her “rebirth” last week as a transgender woman and wished she had come out earlier.
She said: “It’s God’s will for me to be female. I feel like he wanted to use me as an instrument to teach others about being trans.”
If she had come out sooner, she wouldn’t have ended up spending more than £600k($780k) on cosmetic surgery so that she could feel comfortable as a man.
She said: “When I was little, I loved dolls and dresses and I felt like I was a little girl, but I had no idea what being transgender meant.
“Now it’s something that is much more understood. I spent thousands on having fake abs and biceps, but I felt like a failure as a man, It wasn’t who I was meant to be.”
She hasn’t gotten around to legally changing her name although she already has a chosen moniker that she’s choosing to keep secret for now. She did use the name Jessica previously as her alter-ego.
She has been overwhelmed at the incredible support she has received since coming out as a woman.
She said: “The feedback has been really positive. A lot of men have been asking me for dates.”
Rodrigo revealed that before coming out, it wasn’t easy living as a man. She felt like a fraud and wanted to end things at one point.
She said: “At times I felt like taking my life would be easier for myself and for everyone around me.
“I became very distant from my friends and family and I got very depressed because I really wanted to come out as a woman.
“I felt like I couldn’t do that because of my job in TV and my family and it got to the point where I didn’t want to put my clothes on because they felt typically male.
“Because of this, getting ready to go out for the day became a big ordeal.”
And that’s why she wanted to tell her story so that others who may be in a similar situation as her’s would know that they are not alone.
