Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed to the world that his 18 year old daughter will be following in his footsteps by debuting as a professional wrestler with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Simone Alexandra Johnson has signed a contract with the WWE on February. She has been training to be a wrestler for some time now, but had not signed a professional contract until earlier this year. Simone is the daughter of Johnson when he was with his ex-wife Dany Garcia.
Johnson made public his daughter’s choice in an interview with Jimmy Fallon for “The Tonight Show”. He said that he is honored that his daughter chose to go the way he went, and said that his daughter was determined to be a trailblazer who outshines her father.

Although he stepped aside from the squared ring in 2004, he has returned multiple times to the great welcoming of his fans. His two bouts with current wrestling top star John Cena in Wrestlemania garnered mainstream media attention.
Johnson explained that his daughter has been training to fulfill her dreams since she was 16 years old. He also seemed proud as a father to tell everyone that Simone Johnson is the youngest athlete that the WWE has signed a contract with.
Simone Johnson is another addition to the great wrestling heritage that she is part of. Her father has been praised as the most electrifying man in sports entertainment and was 10-time world champion for the WWE. Her grandfather and great-grandfather are WWE hall of famers.
It must be an exciting moment for Johnson, as he was in his daughter’s footsteps some 30 years ago when he debuted as Rocky Maivia. Simone will not be the only wrestler who hails from a family of wrestlers. Most notably, 16-time world champion Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte Flair is the current women’s champion.
