Iron Man has shared his enormous technological plan to save the planet from climate change and other possible disasters that the world may soon face.
Actor Robert Downey Jr. has launched the Footprint Coalition, a group that aims to use “advanced technologies for the good of the environment,” such as nanotechnology and robotics.
He shared his incredible plan while delivering the opening keynote for Re: Mars conference.
Downey Jr. said: “Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years.”
He went on and praised the roundtable of professionals that helped him to come up to this brilliant conclusion. Downey Jr. even joked: “God, I love experts. They’re like Wikipedia with character defects.”
Unlike others who have plunged into the debate regarding climate change, Robert Downey Jr. admitted that his very own lifestyle also contributes to the problem. He even referred to himself as a ‘carbon footprint nightmare colossus.’
He said: “I have this quiet sense of crisis. I’m a one-man carbon footprint nightmare colossus.”
The actor didn’t describe the exact details of Footprint Coalition. A website for the group immediately went live after his speech.
Forbes reported that the actor is also planning to produce a YouTube series with his wife, Susan Downey, about artificial intelligence.
Susanne Daniels, the global head of original content at YouTube, said: “We are excited to be in business with the smart creative minds behind this innovative new series. There is so much to discover, and this series will take us on a fascinating journey as we explore the exciting developments in the world of AI and glimpse into the future.”
Susan Downey hopes the YouTube series will show AI in a new and stimulating light. She said: “Robert and I share a curiosity for AI, a complicated and often polarizing subject. Our aim is to explore AI through a lens of objectivity and accessibility, in a thoroughly bold, splashy, and entertaining way.”
