It’s Ricky Gervais To The Rescue As He Roasts Boohooing Quarantined Celebs

We know Ricky Gervais is a man of his word: poignant, sardonic and always down-to-earth.

Due to his backgrounds, his almost allergic reaction to Hollywood celebrities and their antics of social naivete has irked him to take some touchy remarks in recent years, notably his hosting of the Golden Globes last year (honestly what were the organizers thinking?)

And he wasn’t the one to back down from critique during this period of incessant Hollywood people trying to take some credit for ’empathizing’ and ‘suffering with you all’ in the coronavirus spread. His latest motif seems to be from Sam Smith’s “crying in isolation” pics he posted on Instagram.

He told the Sun during a recent interview:

‘[NHS staff] are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining. Wearing masks, and being left with sores, after risking their own health and their families’ health selflessly.

‘But then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool. And, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it.’ He chuckled to the notion, adding: ‘I didn’t go out much anyway, and there’s always too much booze in the house. It’s always been the 6pm watershed for as long as I remember. Obviously, I am looking at the watch.’

Sam Smith’s recent post drew some heavy criticism around the UK, including none other than Piers Morgan who called the non-binary singer as ‘celebrity attention-seeking b******t’. Piers also thought it necessary to bring the fight on Twitter as well, saying: ‘Get a grip, the lot of you. This is a war, not an Instagram story op.’ The said pic can be seen below:
