Christopher Hopkins, also known as ‘The Makeover Guy,’ has discovered his passion for styling as he was a little kid. Back then, he used to play with the dolls of his sister and started performing his first makeovers.
Since Christopher’s childhood, his primary inspiration has been his mother, Joann. She is a lady of good looks and classy style. For more than 50 years, no one, except her son, has seen her without makeup. Joann even claims that she sleeps with cosmetics on. Of course, she reapplies her makeup on a daily basis, but she makes sure that no one sees her doing so.
His mother is what gave Christopher the motivation to open multiple makeover salons and pursue his dreams. “I watched my mother put her face on every morning for years. No one sees her without makeup. She’s always said she’d rather answer the door without her clothes on than without her makeup,” Christopher explained in a YouTube video.
The pursuit of his dreams also led Hopkins to write a book called ‘Staging Your Comeback, A Complete Beauty Revival For Women Over 45.’ His mother is not only the muse for his writing but also the book’s biggest fan.
Nowadays, Joann is 73 years old but remains as conscious about her looks as ever before. Due to her son’s request, however, she finally agreed to reveal her face without makeup to the world. Before she got started, she removed her wig, and her son gave her a brand new haircut.
In the video below, you can see Joann removing her makeup and performing her entire morning routine in front of a camera. Despite feeling uncomfortable without cosmetics on, Joann still looks gorgeous and acts as a self-confident person should. After reapplying the makeup, she also mentions that she feels more like herself again.
Regardless of whether Joann is wearing makeup or not, she is beautiful. If cosmetics make you feel better in your own skin, then go for them, but remember, you’re just as beautiful without them. “Of course, I think she’s beautiful with or without, she’s just not ‘who she is’ without it. When who you are is expressed by how you look, you’re beautiful. She’s not the woman without the makeup. Just the way it is,” Christopher adds in his video.
