We all get a little carried away during a fancy dinner.
Sometimes, we order a pricey wine or pick up a costly tin of beer by mistake and then just pay for it.
But no one can reach the level of retired boxer Ricky Hatton in this regard. Ricky ‘mistakenly’ ordered a steak which costed him a whopping $1,125 (€920).
Ricky, who is on a vacation with her girlfriend Charlie in Mykonos, Greece, is spending the holidays with amazing sun, sea, wine, and some outrageously overpriced steaks, as it appears.
Ricky was looking for a meal at a beach-view restaurant named Nammos. Posting a picture of a really gargantuan steak in his plate on social media, he said: “Wow. We’ll start the diet tomorrow then shall we? This could be another war.”
If seen closely, the piece of meat is a huge Kobe Steak and any person with some knowledge of beef can tell that it is made of a special type of Wagyu beef known for being extremely overpriced.
The sheer size of the steak can also be seen in the Instagram stories he added.
The former boxer also shared a picture of his bicep next to an empty plate to prove he has finished the steak. He proudly captioned it: “Don’t mess with the hitman b***h.”
However, the excitement and bragging vanished when Ricky woke up the following day ‘in tears’ upon noticing the steep $1,125 (€920) price of the steak.
Sharing what appears to be a bill of his dinner, Ricky said: “Just woke up this morning in a puddle of f***ing tears. That’s what you get for being a fat greedy little s**t.”
Having a close look, one can tell that the steak was not the only pricey thing on the menu that he enjoyed. The total bill was an astronomical $2,135 (€1927).
The things that contributed to the rest of the bill include some fancy $610 champagne, a $125 Prosecco, a bottle of Hendrick’s gin costing $147, and a tequila shot for $25.
His girlfriend also posted the pictures from their accidental blow-out dinner, saying: “Having the best day with my Victor Meldrew.”
Well Ricky, just go for some fried wings and simple red wine next time instead of exploring the expensive menu.
