A Peruvian restaurant ‘Ajilalo’ serves hungry stray dogs tasty meals prepared using its leftovers.
Gerardo Reyes Ortiz is the owner of the restaurant “Ajilalo” located in the Ate district in the Lima province in eastern Peru.
Ortiz’s initiative touched everyone’s heart after he shared the pictures of the hungry stray dogs enjoying their tasty meals on social media.
He captioned the pictures: “To all our friends who have a restaurant I invite them to add themselves to our initiative. Let’s put our leftovers together and make food for stray dogs.”
He has invited other restaurant owners to give their leftovers so they can feed more hungry stray dogs through their initiative.
The pictures show the dogs enjoying tasty meals while another picture shows one dog waiting at the front door for his meal.
Ortiz is being praised wholeheartedly for his initiative and people are urging others to contribute their leftovers.
One user wrote: ‘Thank you for sharing with those helpless abandoned puppies, God bless you.’
Another said: ‘Very good initiative Lalo, my best wishes for you’ while the third one said: ‘Very good lalo. noble feeling. I hope everyone will join.’
The ‘Ajilalo’ restaurant specializes in “anticuchos” which is a traditional Peruvian brochette (skewer).
They use the leftovers to make food for the local stray dogs after making anticuchos.
The towns and cities of Peru have hundreds or thousands of stray dogs and to feed them is such a great job.
We hope more people join this initiative to feed stray dogs who don’t have anyone to take care of them and a home to live.
Through this initiative, dogs at least can have a meal as stray dogs are often abused by strangers.
