Marjorie Taylor Greene is not backing down on her election fraud allegations despite facing calls for resignation over her controversial comments.
The Georgia Republican has recently been asked to step down from her position after it came to light she previously suggested that the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was planned by Democrats.
In recent weeks, the QAnon supporter also frequently voiced support for Trump and insisted that the election was stolen.
Now, even though Trump has already been out of the White House for nearly two weeks, the Republican representative doubled down on her election fraud allegations as she said people’s concerns should be heard.
“We had been preparing very hard, quite a few of us in the House and some of our senators to object, on January 6, to election fraud and objecting and six different states,” Greene said as she addressed officials at her district’s town hall in Dallas, Georgia.
“We had done a lot of work in our preparation, talked to a lot of people. Looked at a lot of evidence that I think still needs to be looked at and should be presented in court, I truly believe that.
“See, this wasn’t a conspiracy of several people that got together and created a story. This is literally thousands of people in different states and different voting precincts different counties. And they all signed these affidavits.”
The QAnon follower also took the opportunity to hit back at Congress members who wish to see her resign by calling their efforts a witch hunt.
In a recent turn of events, Greene also revealed that she had a “great” phone call with Trump whom she dubbed her favorite president of all times.
