Sometimes it is very hard to get your kid to eat dinner on time. Some parents push the dinnertime to a much earlier hour and it worked to their kids.

There are some reasons why eating dinner early may be a great idea if you have small kids.

1. When your kid is at school, they don’t always eat properly and that is normal and it happens with many children. School activities make your kids tired and by the time they arrive, they would be hungry. You should give them a proper meal instead of serving only snacks.

2. It is not a bad idea to give your kids healthy snacks in between meals as they would definitely have one if they are hungry. If they continue snacking and there was no proper feast then it would be like feeding them a meal, only it wouldn’t be as beneficial.

3. After constant snacking before dinnertime, they won’t feel hungry by the time you’re serving dinner as their stomach is already full. Your efforts of making healthy and delicious meal would be wasted as your kid has already eaten a lot of snacks before dinner.

4. As we know children ages 7-12 should sleep for 10-11 hours per day. It should be a gap of 2 to 3 hours between the last meal and bedtime to allow them for digestion and prevent heartburn at night and insomnia.

5. There is no restriction on serving food to your kid when they ask for it as there is no right time for dinner. If your kid is hungry and asking for food then serve them at that time and don’t force them to eat more when they are full.
