She also clarified that the she was not lying or hiding the fact that she has been treating cancer, saying that her recent visits to the hospital to treat an infection and remove a gallstone were all unrelated with her cancer.

The announcement also said that Ginsburg tried immunotherapy, which has less side-effects, which proved to be ineffective. It was after failing to yield meaningful results via immunotherapy that she decided to go through chemo.

In what is perhaps the most important aspect of the announcement, Ginsburg emphasized that she has no desire to resign from her position from the Supreme Court.

The Justice had previously said that she will continue to uphold her position as long as she can give it all she has. Saying how she has kept up with all the work, such as writing the opinion papers, Ginsburg said that she is still confident that she can perform at the highest level despite her ailments.
