A Man Passed After His Dog Transmitted A Rare Infection After Licking His Face


 If you are sharing your life with a dog, you probably are addicted or habitual to a lot of slobbery kisses being thrown in your face all the time.

But for a man, this turned out so hazardous that he lost his life.

The man who has not been named here was 63-year-old. His love for his dog turned out hazardous as it turned into an infection that caused organ failures to him. Just after a few weeks of his dog licking him, the man living in Germany lost his life to multiple organ failure.

The doctor treating the man wrote about the case in the European Journal of Case Reports in Internal MedicineThe symptoms of the same include pain in the muscles, fever, and labored breathing. Following the symptoms, the man was brought to the hospital by his family and soon doctors said he needs to be admitted.

After he was admitted, doctors found damages in his kidney and liver dysfunction.

Without wondering much the doctors transferred him to the Intensive Care Unit. He was then diagnosed with severe sepsis and with gangrene in the next few days. Eventually in the tests, the doctors found the bacteria Capnocytophaga Canimorsus. This bacteria is only found in the saliva of a cat or a dog.

The man was left in a terrible condition and his skin got filled with enormous marks that were giving him sever pain. He was kept alive on a ventilator for 16 long days but eventually, his family decided to let him go because his body had given up and there were no chances of him getting out of it.

The next time you are around your dog make sure they are treated for the bacteria or else if you ever get symptoms like these, rush to the doctor without wasting any time.
