According to a royal expert, the Queen ‘admires’ how Kate Middleton has adopted the lifestyle of a royal.
Sixty-nine-year-old Jennie Bond, who’s a former BBC royal correspondent, said that in recent years, the Duchess of Cambridge has “come into her own” and she often works “behind the scenes.”
Jennie appeared on Lorraine via video conferencing where she told that the 37-year-old princess has a “quiet dignity” and that’s the very thing the British public loves about the future queen.
Jennie said: “She’s doing very well isn’t she? She’s so dignified. She has a quiet dignity about her which I think the public is growing to love and she works behind the scenes.”
The host, Christine Lampard, questioned her: “Do you think she’s the Queen’s favorite?”
Jennie replied: “The Queen is very, very fond of Sophie countess of Wessex – she often takes her place besides the Queen, but I think she admires the way that Catherine, as she’s known in royal circles, has adapted to the job being a Queen-in-waiting.”
Duchess Catherine secretly volunteered for two days at the Kingston Hospital Maternity Unit in London.
The hospital delivered around 6,000 babies in 2018 and is one of the busiest maternity centers in London. They also provide home births assistance and have a midwife-led unit as well.
Jennie said: “Can you imagine the Duchess of Cambridge popping round? It’s pretty amazing isn’t it – so I think she’s coming into her own.”
Jennie also spoke about Prince Harry and Princess Meghan who spent the last six weeks in Canada, having a break from their busy schedule.
Jennie said that the couple will have a “tricky” 2020 and will be working full-time throughout the year.
“They’ve spent the last six weeks we believe in Canada and I think this will be a tricky year,” she said. “We’ve got to see if they can hack it, can they take the public scrutiny? The public role that is theirs.
“Because they’ve both spoken about their fragile state, Harry very openly about his mental problems. So they are coming back to full-time work – I hope they can manage it.”
Speaking of the Christmas celebrations of the royals, the expert said the family had a “good Christmas” and revealed that Archie received some books and a ball pool for the day.
“They had a good Christmas by all accounts they shared that lovely photo of little Archie, hogging the camera absolutely,” Jennie said.
“We’ve got to see if they can hack it, can they take the public scrutiny? The public role that is theirs. Because they’ve both spoken about their fragile state, Harry very openly about his mental problems.
“So they are coming back to full-time work – I hope they can manage it.”
